Tharun Bhascker shot to fame with Pelli Choopulu in 2016. In the nine years since then, he has helmed only two other movies - Ee Nagaranki Emaindi and Keedaa Cola.
In a recent chit-chat with budding actor Vikranth Reddy, Tharun said that he is not like other directors. "I am not demeaning them, but I want to have it easy. If there is no gap between films, a good story won't come out from you. I feel if someone is able to make movies at a faster clip, they are working on stories not written by them," Tharun added.
He subtly pooh-poohed the prevalent trend where debutant directors, after delivering one hit, chase bigger budgets and grandeur. "Ten crores, twenty crores, thirty crores, hundred crores and boom! They want to make grand movies always," Tharun Bhascker remarked, commenting that he can't be like that. It's evident that most young directors, who debuted after 2010, are greedy. They chase the pan-Indian market and want to work with medium-range and big heroes after delivering just one hit.
