After Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh did it: Will Allu Arjun and others follow?

At the pre-release event of OG in September this year, Pawan Kalyan surprised everyone by appearing on the stage with a Katana in his hand. He wielded it with the flourish of a movie hero. "Director Sujeeth's energy made me do this. This is a first for me in my career," Power Star thundered. The fans loved it!

The other day, at the Varanasi title-reveal event, Mahesh Babu arrived on a synthetic bull. Director SS Rajamouli made sure that the whole episode gets registered in the minds of viewers. Commenting on the two events, film journalist Aditya Devulapalli wrote, "Years later, people won’t believe that both these tongue-in-cheek, fun moments happened the same year. What a time to be a Telugu cinema fan!"

Pawan Kalyan and Mahesh Babu might have inadvertently set a trend here in the span of less than two months. In the era of promotions demanding creative ideas and clickbait-y visuals, other star heroes might have to catch up. Allu Arjun and Prabhas, among others, are among the pan-Indian superstars who are doing event movies. It would be welcome if they take a leaf out of the OG and Varanasi events.
