In the Telugu film industry, even if something is quite obvious, you are not supposed to utter it. For example, if a senior character artist is boring the audience with his outdated acting style, you still have to call him awesome. Have you ever heard any Telugu film personality criticize, say, Rajendra Prasad openly? In Bollywood, even legends are not spared at times.
In a recent interview, Spirit actor Vivek Oberoi said that not many in India might know who Shah Rukh Khan is in 2050. "In 2050, people might say, 'Kaun Shah Rukh Khan?' (Who is Shah Rukh Khan?), perhaps," the Bollywood actor said. This is the kind of opinions that have to be offered from time to time to present a reality check to heroes and a tempered viewpoint to the audience.
Vivek Oberoi's language is in a sharp contrast to what is considered the standard ritual in Tollywood. Even if an '80s hero who has never had a single memorable film to his credit in 30 years acts in a movie, he has to be praised as though he is doing a favour to the audience by making an acting comeback.
