Chandramukhi makers sue Nayanthara

Last year, a documentary named Nayanthara-Beyond the Fairy Tale was released on Netflix. It has since been in the news more for controversial reasons than anything. Actor Dhanush filed a case against the makers of the documentary, stating that footage owned by his production house was used without his consent. He sought damages to the tune of Rs 10 Cr, prompting Nayanthara to lash out at him in unapologetic terms.

Today, the makers of Chandramukhi have filed a case against the documentary, seeking damages to the tune of Rs 5 Cr. AB International, the copyright holder of the Rajinikanth-Jyothi starrer, has accused the documentary team of including portions without prior permission.

While the suit filed by Dhanush hasn't come to a conclusion, the fresh suit suggests that the petitioners see a hope. Perhaps, Netflix is willing to compensate them. As a foreign player, it might not be interested in an out-of-the-court settlement.
