YRF, Posham Pa join forces for Ayushmann Khurrana's Mupapa

Yash Raj Films and Posham Pa Pictures represent two distinct brands in the entertainment segment. YRF, the legendary studio, has been built on decades of theatrical excellence. Posham Pa is widely regarded as one of the most forward-thinking, innovative voices in modern entertainment. Their recent works indicate a passion to create out-and-out disruptive stories. This new collaboration is unconventional, especially because it promises to blend content with a big-screen experience.

Their first joint project is Mupapa, set to release on February 19, 2027. The project is described as a "true genre-bender". Ayushmann Khurrana, who has made content disruption his absolute calling card, is fronting it. Since he has built a career on critically acclaimed movies that challenge standard cinematic norms, expect Mupapa to be both smart and ground-breaking.

The project fits directly into a new business model envisioned by Aditya Chopra to expand the studio's traditional boundaries. YRF Chief Executive Officer Akshaye Widhani is producing the film, marking his second major project as a producer. His last film, the Mohit Suri-directed romance Saiyaara (featuring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda), became the highest-grossing romantic film in the history of Indian cinema. Widhani, it is learned, is building a modern studio model within YRF. So, their partnership is going to be dynamic.

Mupapa, to be directed by Sameer Saxena, goes on the floors soon.

YRF's recent outings include Pathaan, War 2, and Mardaani 3. It awaits the release of Alia Bhatt's Alpha this week.
