'First Day First Show' is the title of a comedy entertainer backed by director Anudeep KV of 'Jathi Ratnalu' fame. Poornodaya Movie Creations' Srija Edida is bankrolling the comedy. The comedy will head to theatres on September 2. In this interview, its lead actor Srikanth Reddy talks about the premise of 'FDFS', his background, why he accepted the character, and more. The rom-com stars Sanchita Bashu as the heroine. The film is directed by Vamsidhar Goud and Lakshmi Narayana P.

I am a native of Hyderabad. I developed a liking for acting during my Engineering and started doing short films in my third year. I started off with the aim of doing even short roles. I started auditioning for various roles in feature films.

I played a lead role in 'Pitta Goda'. It has been four years and in the interim, I auditioned for various roles. I am happy that I have got to play a lead role in a film produced by a banner that made classics (in the 1980s). I come with no film background. I was roped in only because of my talent.

Vamsi (one of the directors) called me for an audition. I had listened to the storyline much before. I showed interest and gave an attempt. They liked my performance and found me funny and apt for the lead character. After three auditions and a photo-shoot, I was finalized.

As you know, the film is about Seenu, a die-hard Pawan Kalyan fan, vying to secure a ticket for the FDFS of 'Kushi' in 2001. His girlfriend wants it. I have played a typical youngster who is unsophisticated but wants to ape his favourite matinee idol. I am a fan of Power Star in real life as well. I also like Suriya.

Anudeep KV's writing is laced with fine humour. He has proved himself with 'Jathi Ratnalu' already. He wrote many situations in the film on the basis of his experiences and observations of real-life events. The comedy and the characters are rooted.

It's awesome that I got to act alongside seniors like Tanikella Bharani garu. I will be seen as his son in the film. He is a lucky charm for first-time heroes.

'FDFS' is an out-and-out hilarious entertainer. Even when the situations turn serious, there is humour in the proceedings. There are weighty love scenes. You will find the heroine's character quite innocent. Anybody would want to do what she says if they find a girlfriend of her nature.

The promotional interviews have been hilarious. I have known Anudeep for many years. He is more of a friend and is like a brother. He is a fun guy to be with because he cracks jokes effortlessly. He makes others laugh all the time.

Acting alongside Vennela Kishore was a nice experience. There is a scene in which he has to display his love for Pawan Kalyan. He used his years of experience to make the scene special.

Ahead of the release of 'FDFS', I am a bit nervous. At the same time, I am confident that the audience are going to find it entertaining.
