'Nachindi Girl Friendu', starring Uday Shankar of 'Aatagadhara Shiva' fame, has Jenifer Emmanuel as the heroine. Producer Atluri Narayan Rao and director Guru Pawan are gearing up for the movie's release this Friday (November 11).
In this interview, fledgling actress Jenifer, who hails from Mumbai, talks about her entry into Tollywood, working on 'Nachindi Girl Friendu', her next plans, and more.
I come from Mumbai. After graduating in English literature, I pursued a diploma course in Journalism. Therefore, I started showing interest in acting opportunities. 'Boys Will Be Boys' was supposed to be my Telugu-language debut. But there has been a delay in the release of the movie. Siddham Manohar, the cinematographer of that movie, referred me to Guru Pawan, the director of 'Nachindi..'. That's how this project happened to me.
Sandhya is my character's name in the movie. She has got two shades. At times, she appears grey. There is a nice twist to her character. I would say that this film has got a novel element in store.
Uday Shankar is such a talent. It was a pleasure working with him. Since I am new to the Telugu film industry, he has been highly supportive. As for director Guru Pawan, he comes with the utmost clarity. He knows how to execute well. He always put us at convenience. And the songs have been picturized beautifully.
I have familiarized myself with Telugu. I learned the language with the zeal of a student preparing for exams (smiles).
I am up for glamorous roles. Since the script demanded it, I have sported a bikini in 'Nachindi..'. And credit goes to the director for not making it appear vulgar in the context of the film. Before shooting for the bikini scene, I followed a diet regimen for two days. I didn't eat much. There is a reason why my character is required to sport a bikini. This film is a thriller and a love story. There is a crime element concerning investment apps.
I feel happy when people say that I have got some features of Tamannaah Bhatia and Krithi Shetty. Jr NTR is my favourite Tollywood actor, while Samantha Ruth Prabhu is my favourite actress. I want to do all sorts of roles in the future.
