Young director Sivaraj Kanumuri’s directorial venture ‘Jayammu Nischayammura’ that starred Srinivasa Reddy and Poorna was released on November 25 and is running successfully with a hit talk in all areas. On the occasion of film’s success, the director took some time out of his day to share his experiences through the media. The director said that he entered into the film industry by taking inspiration from top directors like Vamsi, Bapu and Priyadarshan. He says that his main aim is to deliver natural and good films to audience. In the interview the director continues to talk about how and where he started his career as an assistant director. Here are few excerpts from his interview.

“My hometown is Mattaparru in East Godavari district. I did MSC in computers. I did a job in London for four years. With the aim to become film director, I have started my film career as an assistant director at Varma Corporation. I worked for few films at Ram Gopal Varma and JD Chakravarthy. I am extremely happy that I scored huge success with my very first film ‘Jayammu Nischayammura’. Audience are very involved with the emotions in the film. Everyone is enjoying the film,” said Sivaraj Kanumuri who played duo roles as a director and producer for the film.

About the film, he described, “At first, I was in the idea to work with new actor. Later I felt that Srinivasa Reddy is perfectly apt for innocent guy-next-door role. When I narrated the script to him, he immediately accepted. The story of the film is set in the backdrop of 2013 when Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states were united. The concept of the film is about what problems a Telangana guy has to face when he gets a job in Andhra area. The film is blended with the elements like comedy and sentiments and goes on with sensitive emotions without any conflicts. It’s a must watch film for the whole family together. As the story is related to both Andhra and Telangana people, we publicised the film as ‘Samaikyanga Navvukundam’.”

About his work experience, he explained, “Characters in the film were designed based on the characters we find in the real life. We avoided using punch dialogues and rhyming words, we just used colloquial language. The film was canned in natural locations instead of designing huge artificial sets. We have given importance to naturality. Desavali Vinodam is impressing everyone. ‘Alapajeevi’ novel penned by Raavi Sastri is my favourite novel. I got the idea to make it as a film. Sukumar garu has given me the opportunity. Working with senior artists like Krishna Bhagvan, Posani Krishna Murali and Srinivasa Reddy for my first film is a wonderful experience. Industry people also given lot of support for this different concept film. We have arranged public premiers before two days of the release date. We also invited media personnel also. Prominent people who watched like Sukumar, Koratala Siva, Vakkantham Vamsi and Anil Ravipudi and some others praised it to the skies. The film had good openings with their support. At present, we are fully enjoying the success of ‘Jayammu Nischayammura’.”
