'Republic' looks like an intense film: Sukumar

Director Sukumar has said that 'Republic', whose teaser is out, is seeming like an intense film. He appreciated Deva Katta and actor Sai Dharam Tej on the occasion of its launch.

Speaking on the occasion, producer J Pulla Rao said, "I had been planning to produce a film with Sai Tej as the hero. I am happy that 'Republic' shaped up. We started the shoot during the pandemic last year. We will release the movie on June 4."

Deva Katta, the film's director, said, "I am Sukumar sir's Ekalavya sishyudu. Even those of his movies which didn't click with the audience are superb. I love his 'Rangasthalam', which is a landmark movie. It took me a lot of years to reach this position in the industry."

Sensational Director Sukumar said, "I happened to meet with Deva Katta after the release of 'Prasthanam'. It has got unforgettable sensibilities. When he said that he wants to narrate the story of 'Republic', I said no. It's because I want to watch it rather than listen to it. At a time when everyone was scared of releasing movies, Sai Tej had a release in the form of 'Solo Brathuke So Better' last December. If 'Uppena' could be brought out by us in February, it's because of it. I loved the teaser of 'Republic."

Sai Tej said, "After I listened to the story of 'Republic', my faith in Deva Katta garu grew. If Sukumar garu is the teacher of the class, Buchi Babu is a first-bench student, Deva garu is a middle-bench student and I am a last-bench student. Coming to 'Republic', our producers didn't compromise anywhere in making the movie. My journey with Deva garu started in 2016. A film in our combination is finally coming out now."

Manoj Nandam, Ravi Varma, and others participated in the event.
