Jagapathi Babu has confessed to feeling bad about rejecting a role in Nani's Jersey. In a celebrity talk show, he revealed that Jersey came his way first. He didn't embrace the offer because he felt Jersey might not click commercially. When the film became an acclaimed outing, he regretted his decision.
The prominent Telugu cinema hero of the 1990s added that he has since decided to never reject any film that comes from the Nani stable.
Curiously, Jaggu Bhai has accepted dus like Rama Banam in recent times. That said, after the pandemic, he has stayed away from routine commercial roles, by and large. Salaar offered him something unique.
In an interview, he recently commented that he has become extremely choosy. "I am not doing films that treat me as a set property. There was a time when I used to do some roles just for money. I am now beyond that phase. Given my age, I have to stop considering an offer only for the sake of remuneration. I am increasingly getting choosy," Jagapathi Babu said in an interview in 2023.
