Dheekshith Shetty of The Girlfriend is aiming for multi-lingual success with Shabara, his next. An atmospheric film set in a jungle, this one is being directed by Prem Chand Kilaru.
Speaking today at the launch event of a teaser, Dheekshith Shetty said that he was back to be in Hyderabad. "I hope you all liked the teaser. I am expecting the kind of support you gave me during The Girlfriend. I won't boast much but I am sure that we are going to celebrate a "success" meet for this film. I am doing this project only because I trusted my director, Prem Chand," the actor shared. It's likely that his character is grey-shaded. The film's release in Telugu and Kannada is guaranteed.
Dheekshith further said, "I have always believed in the power of script. Shabara came my way after Dasara (Nani's film), two years ago. I must have listened to 250 stories in the last few years. Shabara's pitch deck is the best I came across. And the output in the first schedule was much better than what was shown in the pitch deck." The hero hinted at Part 2, adding that he is a full-fledged character in the movie. "Impact matters more than the screen time. Arjun, my character, will outshine Vikram from The Girlfriend," he shared.
Director Prem Chand comes with no prior experience but he has been stunning everyone he is working with. He began his speech by saying that his father is greater than God to him. "I entered the industry defying his wishes. You can understand how passionate I am about filmmaking. Shabara is going to take lots of time, but I can assure you crazy experience. I thank the key cast for doing this project. I am taking care of both production and direction. I have total faith in my script. By the time the film reaches the climax, you will discover that Dheekshith is a star in the making.
Actress Misha Narang described Shabara as a visual feast that has been filmed across "wonderful locations". Actor Rajeev Pillai stated that Shabara is going to be a proper theatrical watch. Actor Bhushan Kalyan described it as a "rare project". Mohan Bhagat plays one of the five key characters in Shabara. A treasure is at the center of the plot. Production designer Shiva Kamesh called Prem Chand a great filmmaker in the making. He also praised the cinematography (by Ajay Abraham George). Music director Mithun Mukundan called it a cent per cent hit.
Besides the aforementioned cast, Kriitika Singh Yadav, Aarush, Pramodini, Shubham Tomar, Srikanth, and Anirudh Arun are doing the film. Behind the scenes, this project is steered by the producing trio of Harshita Chadalavada, Durga Chunchu, and Ramadevi Kilara. Sumayya Tabassum is overseeing the costume design. The sound design is by Sai Manindhar Reddy, while the visual flow is managed by editor Bhuvanesh Manivannan.The narrative features additional screenplay work by Manoj Chandrasekhar, brought to life through the dynamic action sequences of Natraj Madigonda and the choreography of Vishal Nads.
