Dil Raju's Sri Venkateswara Creations is going to remake Sankranthiki Vasthunam in Hindi. The Telugu-language blockbuster was headlined by Victory Venkatesh. Akshay Kumar will be reprising him in the Hindi version.
Movie buffs and observers alike are puzzled by the strangeness of remaking a pretty average, Sankranthi-centric movie that didn't have thematic/plot novelty. Although Akshay Kumar's comedy timing is excellent, the remake will need to be extra-vigilant and extraordinarily imaginative in giving a new shape to Sankranthiki Vasthunam.
Anil Ravipudi won't be directing the Hindi remake, as he is not inclined to handle remakes. He declined the offer to remake Bhagavanth Kesari in Tamil with Thalapathy Vijay in the lead.
The Bollywood remake market has been shaky for the past few years. Sri Venkateswara Creations is understood to have entered into a beneficial deal with Akshay Kumar to ensure that upfront remuneration is not needed to be paid by the banner.
