'Gurram Paapi Reddy' Trailer: A con job is so lively, it needs a dead body

In Gurram Paapi Reddy, the titular character (Naresh Agastya) is pulling off a deceiving trick and he needs to dig up a grave for that. His comrades, much like him, wear their silliness on their sleeves. One set of grave-diggers clash with another set. Throw a character from a bygone era and a mildly frustrated judge (played by Brahmanandam) into the mix, you have a crime comedy that doubles up as a buddy comedy. The mixture makes for a delectable dark comedy.

Co-starring Faria Abdullah (as Saudhamini), Rajkumar Kasireddy (as Military), and Vamshidhar Kosgi (as Chilipi), the film co-stars Yogi Babu, Jeevan Kumar, John Vijay and Motta Rajendran.

"Since the treatment is humorous, the mood remains vibrant amid the chaos. The silly comedy is delectable and organic. The ridiculous mishaps caused by people's foolishness often provide us with a good laugh. Due to the complexity of the robotic-arm camera setup, we can only film three to four scenes daily," director Murali Manohar recently said.

Bankrolled by Venu Saddi, Amar Bura, and Jayakanth (Bobby), the film is presented by MJM Motion Pictures and Bura and Saddi Creative Arts. Krishna Saurabh Surampalli is the music director. With cinematography by Arjun Raja, Gurram Paapi Reddy is edited by Karthika Srinivas. Its story is penned by Poorna Prajna.

Gurram Paapi Reddy hits the cinemas on December 19.
