Dulquer Salmaan's career has been on the rise. He is now a thorough multi-lingual actor, with his career on the surge in both Malayalam and Telugu.
You could say that Dulquer did the right thing by junking Kollywood in favour of Tollywood. Want proof? DQ was seriously considered for a lead role in Indian 2. In 2018, media reports stated that he was approached to play the character, which eventually was played by Siddharth.
In 2023, DQ was roped in for a character in Mani Ratnam's Thug Life. He had to opt out of the project ostensibly to allot dates for Lucky Baskhar. After the release of Thug Life, it is speculated that DQ was offered not Simbu's part but the role played by Ashok Selvan.
Kollywood is a sinking ship, while Telugu cinema is relatively way better. Good for him that Dulquer Salmaan chose to act in Lucky Baskhar instead of wasting his time on Tamil flops, that is, Indian 2 and Thug Life.
