"Kankhajura is here. Fragile, yet so fatal. A psychological drama where power isn’t taken — it’s whispered for. Some Crawl, Some Control. Prepare for a story that will get under your skin... just like Kankhajura gets under theirs," wrote SonyLIV, sharing the Trailer of their latest Original. To be streamed from May 30, this one is an Indian adaptation of an Israeli series named Magpie.

Headlined by Roshan Mathew, Mohit Raina, and Sarah Jane Dias, the web series is about two brothers. Named Max and Ashu, they are placed in compelling situations that demand rawness and intensity. Director Chandan Arora is narrating a tale that banks on memory and blurred reality. Donna and Shula Productions has ensured befitting production values.

Speaking about her character Nisha in the series, actress Sarah Jane Dias said that there was something deeply unsettling about KanKhajura—not just the story, but what it forced one to confront: guilt, family, and memory. She added that Nisha was a character who was trying to hold it all together while everything inside her was falling apart. Dias also stated that it hadn't been easy to play a character that was so nuanced and layered, but that it had been empowering.

Mahesh Shetty, Ninad Kamat, Trinetra Haldar, Heeba Shah, and Usha Nadkarni have played different roles.

Magpie, the Israeli original, revolves around a former prisoner, Asa Katz, who is enlisted by the police to help crack a case. The narrative explores themes of revenge, betrayal, and the twisted nature of human relationships.
