Shashtipoorthi, starring Rajendra Prasad, Rupeysh, Archana and others, will head to theatres on May 30. Its Trailer was released at an event on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajendra Prasad said that he is fortunate to have got to play age-appropriate roles time and again in his decades-long career. "I have films for all occasions, be it marriage, death or Shashtipoorthi. And, to top off this achievement, I have Ilaiyaraaja himself composing music for this film. The Shashtipoorthi ceremony is conducted because no child ever gets to watch their parents' wedding. The occasion is special, as is this film, because everyone is someone's child. We are conducting this event today after taking the blessings of Durga Matha. When I was a child and my elders thought my days were numbered, my maternal uncle took me to Her temple for blessings. He told me She was my and everyone's mother. To this day, I am devoted to Ammavaru. This May 30, Shashtipoorthi is going to engage you as a complete entertainer that glorifies our traditions and customs. Rupeysh and Aakanksha have acted as our kids, not as artists," the Nata Kireeti said.
Actress Archana said that Aakanksha Singh has a homely, girl-next-door character in the movie. "Director Pavan Prabha has cast me in a role that reflects his mother Prabha's love, ethics, morals and personality. Her words, her language, and her emotions are what my character in Shashtipoorthi represents. Ilaiyaraaja garu, Thota Tharani garu, Keeravani garu (he has written a song), and Rajendra Prasad garu make this film complete. Rajendra Prasad garu can fit into any character and any film. That's what makes him so unique and versatile. Actor and producer Rupeysh has been excellent in both roles. It's nothing less than a 'yagna' to be able to finish a project in these times. Rupesyh is down-to-earth and principled. As an actor, he is multi-dimensional," the Ladies Tailor actress said.
Hero-producer Rupeysh said, "If noted artists have done our movie, the credit goes to Pavan Prabha's writing. I want to act with Rajendra Prasad garu in all the films I am going to do/act in. I will always be indebted to him. Shooting with Archana garu was like working with my own mother. This story couldn't have been done on a meagre budget. I didn't mind spending a high budget. I strongly believe that I will recover my investment in just two days."
