'Madhurapudi Gramam Ane Nenu' stars Siva Kantamaneni as the hero. Produced by him on Light House Cine Magic, the film is a concept-oriented action drama. It will grace the theatres on October 13. In this interview, Siva says that the violence in the film is visceral and raw. He talks about the film's highlights, his collaboration with Mani Sharma, and more.

In 2019, I did 'Akkadokaduntadu', which worked well in B and C centres. We released a 50-day poster after its successful run. 'Madhurapudi..', too, is not a multiplex movie. The greater focus is on B and C centres. We are going to release it on 120 screens in the Telugu States. Love is related to souls, not bodies, is the central message of the movie. That said, entertainment is its mainstay.

'Madhurapudi..' revolves around an illiterate man named Suri. This is an out-of-the-box movie, I would say. Suri is raw and reckless and has been supported by a friend named Babjee for whose sake he can do anything out of love. When the friend aspires to become a legislator, Suri goes out of his way to enable his political dreams. We shot the movie in multiple locations, including at the Machilipatnam seaside.

The heroine is a volunteer spreading financial literacy in the village. The love track involves her and Suri. There is a negative shade to Suri. But there is also a redemption arc.

The violence is not drastic. There are two extreme shots that resulted in the movie being given an 'A' rating. We didn't want the shots to be removed, as that would have compromised the intensity factor.

The mass vibes, we hope, will surely draw the audience to theaters. The locations were finalized after a recce. Spacious locations where habitations are absent were chosen.

I have done method acting in the movie. It is a brainy performance. I had to do homework to ensure that I got into the skin of the character. The story takes place in the backdrop of a village near Ongole, whose dialect came naturally to me. A writer with an Ongole background has written the dialogue.

This is a multi-genre movie which is a combination of all emotions. Politics, love, pathos and action are its main ingredients. Although there is politics, there is no direct commentary on the contemporary political situation.

This is an action-drama with excellent music by Mani Sharma garu. Director Mallikarjun has previously worked with the composer thrice. He didn't mind taking less remuneration for the songs and the BGM since our movie is not a big-budgeted one. When he watched the first copy, he felt that the treatment was unique. The songs were recorded after the movie was finished. Before that, we had shot a few montages.

I am a businessman and acting is not my full-fledged career option. I will continue to pick stories that give me enough scope to perform. I have played a don in 'Mani Shankar', my upcoming release. It is a fun role. The film will hit the cinemas soon.

I choose roles that regular actors don't choose. I have done another movie in association with my friends in the realty sector. I and others have previously produced TV serials that ran into more than 100 episodes. Our association with the small screen was very strong back then.

I have done 'Adiparvam' with other producers. I played a powerful, positive character in it. Manchu Lakshmi had a negative character in it. I am not doing negative roles these days.
