Siddharth (Dulquer) and his friend Kallis (Rakshak) are techies turned scammers. They dupe e-commerce websites and are into various hi-tech crimes to make quick money. A cop named Prathap (Gautham Menon) gets personally affected by one of their frauds and is on a mission to arrest them. Meanwhile, Siddharth falls in love with a beautician named Meera (Ritu Varma) and Kallis woos Meera's friend Shreya (Niranjani). When Siddharth and Kallis decide to give up the life of crime and settle in Goa with their girlfriends, unexpected events follow.
Dulquer Salmaan entertains the audiences in the role of a high-tech scammer. He has even dubbed for himself well.Ritu Varma looks beautiful and performs very well. Gautham Menon's role is a surprise package. The talented director proves that he is a good actor too. Rakshak, Niranjani, Anish Kuruvilla and others are apt for their roles.
Harshavardhan Rameshwar's background score revs up the proceedings. Masala Coffee's songs are okay. The camerawork is decent. The screenplay is engaging and entertaining as well.
Engaging screenplay & twists
Decent rom-com elements
Lead pair's performances
Gautham Menon's surprising role
'Kanulu Kanulanu Dochayante' is an engaging thriller with good twists. The entertainment is also decent. The interval twist is good and the second half is engrossing. But the film looks like a normal rom-com in the first few minutes and the scenes between the lead pair should have been better. Apart from the performances of Dulquer Salmaan and Ritu Varma, Gautham Vasudev Menon's role surprises the audiences. It is technically sound too.
On the whole, 'Kanulu Kanulanu Dochayante' is an entertaining and engaging thriller. Few creative liberties were taken.
