In Bhagavanthudu, Thiruveer of Masooda and The Pre-Wedding Show fame plays an intense role. This period-based narrative has both political drama and romantic themes embedded into its structure. Up for a grand theatrical release this Summer, the film's Teaser was unveiled today.
Speaking on the occasion, Thiruveer said that he decided to do the film just five minutes into the first narration he was given. Even after scoring a hit like Masooda, nobody felt the actor deserved a high-budget movie. The makers of Bhagavanthudu, however, were ready to invest more than what his market would have necessitated at that time. "I learned dance from Govind master and action from Mahesh master. All of us competed with each other in performances," the hero shared, adding that his upcoming film will be counted as a great one. "Be it Pareshan or other movies, they chose me. I never got to choose them. My previous release was a small, cute movie. Bhagavanthudu is the biggest one in my career," Thiruveer added.
Guest and actor Vishwak Sen described the teaser as impressive. Saying that he likes village-based narratives even though he has been mostly into urban movies, the Funky actor added that he hopes to enter into a deal with producer Ravi Panasa soon. "I hope to receive advance money for a future collaboration between us," the Falaknuma Das star said.
Guest and actor Sundeep Kishan said that he has known Panasa since the time of Sneha Geetham. He appreciated the planning put in by both Panasa and Sniel Narang of Asian Cinemas. He praised Thiruveer's choices. He mentioned his Sigma co-star, Faria Abdullah.
Producer Ravi Panasa was pulled back into the film industry after Venu Udugula introduced him to the script of Bhagavanthudu. He suggested that, in terms of themes and intensity, the film will be as novel as Dhanush's Asuran, Rishab Shetty's Kantara, Karnan, and Suriya's Jai Bhim. Kannada actor Rishi was chosen based on his performance in a popular web series. Set to be released in April, Bhagavanthudu is being supported by Suniel Narang.
Director GG Vihari, who worked as a writer on Viarata Parvam, started out by conceiving the story on a small scale. Eventually, the scale of Bhagavanthudu grew bigger and bigger. "This film was born from the belief that stories exist to hold a mirror to our inner selves and the complexities of society. We chose Palnadu as our backdrop because it is a land where history and mythology breathe as one; often called the Telugu Mahabharata, it is the bedrock of our roots. Even today, the people of Palnadu worship swords as deities. By setting our narrative here, we revisit a thousand-year-old conflict that already held the answers to the social tensions we face today," he added.
Actress Faria Abdullah hinted that, after comedies like Jathi Ratnalu and Mathu Vadalara 2, she is changing gears with this one. She thanked the producer for the golden opportunity.
Praising the producer's passion, actor Rishi said, "The idea of giving a voice to the voiceless in society strongly appealed to me. Director GG Vihari’s shot division and making are praise-worthy."
Venu Udugula's speech was filled with mandatory mentions. "Thiruveer is an actor I deeply admire, and his immediate commitment after reading the script speaks volumes about the story's strength. I have had the privilege of seeing the final cut, and I am confident that director and music director KP will see their careers reach new heights with this release," the filmmaker, who shot to fame with Needi Naadi Oke Katha, said.
Madhura Sridhar Reddy of Madhura Audio has had a working relationship with Ravi Panasa for many years. They entered Tollywood more than two decades ago around the same time. He has watched Bhagavanthudu and is mighty confident of it turning out to be Panasa's lucky charm. He also lauded Thiruveer's movie line-up on the occasion. Producer Seven Hills Satish hoped that Panasa will be as successful as a movie producer as he has been as a businessman.
Bhagavanthudu also features Ravinder Vijay, Shelley Kishore, Kalakeya Prabhakar, and Chirag Jani. Ram Kishan and Robin Subbu have choreographed the stunts. Chandrabose, Goreti Venkanna, and Kasarla Shyam have penned the lyrics. Raj Thota (currently, he is also working on Prabhas' Spirit) and KP are the cinematographer and music director, respectively.
Bhagavanthudu is presented by Asian Films' Narayan Das Narang and Panasa Shankaraya Goud.
