The theatrical release of the Hindi remake of 'Jersey' was earlier today postponed from April 14 to April 22. Starring Shahid Kapoor in the lead, the film is in the news over a plagiarism allegation.

As reported by ToI, a Mumbai-based cine writer named Rajneesh Jaiswal has filed a case against the makers of the Gowtam Tinnanuri directorial. He has alleged that the film's story was originally conceived by him. The Mumbai High Court is scheduled to hear the petition.

The case doesn't seem to have any basis. The Telugu original 'Jersey' was released in theatres in 2019. The aforementioned writer never made any allegation for more than 2.5 years. This fact hasn't been mentioned by national media reports. Wonder why!
