Ahead of the theatrical release of 'Acharya', director Koratala Siva has said that he has worked on the film for four years without taking a single rupee as remuneration. Answering a question on hiking ticket prices by Rs 50 in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for the first few days, the director said that the ticket price hike is essential if the makers have to get their monies back.

"Chiranjeevi garu dedicated 3 years for 'Acharya'. Despite the busy 'RRR' schedules, Charan gave me 40 days for his portions. I worked for 4 years. Accounts are yet to be settled. The ticket price hike is in keeping with the film's budget. 'RRR' had a certain budget. 'Acharya' has a certain money to recover," Siva said.

Taking over, Chiranjeevi said that the pandemic has battered all sectors and the film industry is one of them. "Have you ever heard of a sum of interest to the tune of Rs 50 Cr being paid on a film? We paid," Chiru answered with a tinge of pain.
