The Telugu film industry has been reeling under the pressure of maximizing its non-theatrical revenues, especially because theatrical revenues have become uncertain. The movies of even star heroes don't comfortably land lucrative OTT deals.
Anushka Shetty's Ghaati, however, hasn't been affected by this stark reality. As per producer Rajeev Reddy, the film's non-theatrical revenues are to the tune of Rs 50 crore. Considering that the budget of the Krish Jagarlamudi directorial should not be above this figure, the producer and UV Creations (the other banner associated with Ghaati) are safe.
It was wrongly presumed by industry observers that UV Creations was not in a sweet spot, with both Ghaati and Chiranjeevi's Vishwambhara getting delayed. As far as Ghaati goes, the banner is in a happy zone.
Ghaati, co-starring Vikram Prabhu and several other artists of repute, will head to theatres on September 5.
