Sasivadane Short Review: A pointless love story full of imitations

Sasivadane, directed by Sai Mohan Ubbana, wouldn't have existed had many Tamil movies set in rural areas and recent Telugu movies like Uppena not existed. The beats of its story are extremely run-of-the-mill, with the hero-heroine duo's silent exchanges feeling affected.

Rakshit Atluri plays a smile-prone chap on the cusp of doing Post-Graduation. He greatly loves his loving father (Sriman), who typically behaves like a film character on the brink of sudden death. Like, he is that sweet and emotional. Komalee Prasad plays Sasi, our bearded hero's Anganvadi children-loving Telugu inti ammayi whose bava is expectedly mean, disgusting and whatnot!

The treatment is pretty much outdated. Three songs play out before the lead pair manage to have a conversation for a few minutes. The title track begins on the premises of a temple, topped by a dance choreography that highlights the sexual tension between them. It's bizarre after a point.

The climax was touted to be "unlike anything we have seen in Telugu cinema". It's for the viewer to figure out what is in store.

Sasivadane has music by Saravana Vasudevan and the background score by Anudeep Dev. The Godavari landscape is generically portrayed.
