"There are some things we can only share with our best friends - this film captures that feeling," said actress Rashmika Mandanna, speaking about her upcoming movie, The Girlfriend. Its trailer launch event today saw her highlight some of the merits of the film. Saying that Rahul Ravindran's story was a love story she had "never seen before", the pan-Indian actress suggested that the film satisfies her urge to do meaningful movies. It's not always about commercial success, measured in BO numbers. "I want audiences to leave the theater with a special emotion. This project came to me at the right time in my career," the Thamma actress stated, thanking the entire team behind the romantic drama.

Describing Rashmika as a daughter-like person in his life, presenter Allu Aravind described her character Bhooma as an intense one. He predicted that the Pushpa 2 actress will win all the Best Actress awards for her performance in The Girlfriend. Rahul had narrated the story four years ago with the intention of making it for a web series format. He also quipped that Vijay Deverakonda would be present as the chief guest for the pre-release event. At this, Rashmika, the Kingdom actor's partner, blushed.

Producer Bunny Vasu described Rashmika as the pride of the Geetha Arts banner. He also vouched for the ability of Deekshith's performance to be unforgettable. He warned the boys out there to be careful while watching The Girlfriend with their sweethearts.

Producer Dheeraj Mogilineni vouched for the special place The Girlfriend will always hold in his career. He praised Rashmika's willingness to forgo her remuneration before the start of the movie. She voluntarily agreed to take her fee only after the movie finished. He described Deekshith as a "fantastic actor" who will be busy with movie offers for the next ten years. Finally, he described Allu Aravind as a "godfather".

Producer Vidya Koppineedi described The Girlfriend as a heart-touching movie. Thanking director Rahul for penning a "beautiful story", she batted for Rashmika's irreplaceability. She called the lead performances as inspired.

Producer SKN's speech was entertaining, as always. He stated that there is no stopping Rashmika, who has massive films like Animal, Pushpa 2, Chhaava and the latest Thamma to her credit. "She has sweetness, coolness, and hotness all at once. She prefers simplicity over publicity," SKN said, adding that Rashmika is easily the most hardworking actress who doesn't impose restrictions on her working hours. At the end, the Baby producer asked everyone to watch The Girlfriend with that one special one in their lives.

Actor Dheekshith Shetty's Vikram will be something we will both love and dislike in turns. It's a complex character. "When I came across the first narration, I found the story quite haunting. "You will learn how to manage your girlfriend! This film shows what today’s men are really like," he added.

Director Rahul Ravindran wrote the story of The Girlfriend when he was a hosteler. Describing the November 7th release as "intense and emotional", he added that the content of the film will resonate with those already in a relationship as well as those who want to get into one. Saying that The Girlfriend's story is not a run-of-the-mill one, Rahul added that getting to direct actors like Rashmika and Deekshith was nothing short of a blessing. The emotions will touch both genders, he added.
