Lokah's Chandra and Mirai's Mahabir share a similarity

Lokah: Chapter 1 - Chandra and the antagonist's backstory in Mirai have an interesting parallel. Trauma and transformation are themes central to both Chandra and Mirai's evil villain.

Both characters have backstories rooted in past trauma and injustice. In Lokah, the protagonist Chandra (as the yakshi Kalliyankattu Neeli) is a member of a forest tribe that is massacred by a king's men. Her transformation into a supernatural being is a direct result of this brutal event, which she is forced to witness. Similarly, the antagonist in Mirai, Mahabir Lama (also known as The Black Sword), is a witness to caste-based discrimination. However, he channels his agony for the wrong reasons; he turns into a power-hungry character.

Chandra's power in Lokah is a result of a tragic event and is used to protect others, while the Mirai antagonist's power is pursued out of a desire for world domination.

Chandra is essayed by Kalyani Priyadarshan. The film is directed by Dominic Arun. Mahabir in Mirai is portrayed by Manchu Manoj. The film is directed by Karthik Ghattamneni.
