Recently, YouTuber Mouli Tanuj scored a big hit with Little Hearts, a rom-com with a certain brand of silly comedy playing extremely well to his strengths. Another YouTuber is now aiming for a hit on the silver screen.
Shanmukh Jaswanth, who shot to fame with The Software DevLOVEper and Surya, will be seen in a youthful rom-com titled Premaku Namaskaram. Written and directed by V Bhima Shankar, its Title Announcement video dropped today.
The video begins with Shanmukh making a slow-mo entry into a breakup-themed bar where jilted men sob while they booze their way out of misery. Each of them has been ditched by their girlfriends over what they feel are silly pretexts. One of them got threatened with a police complaint, even.
The film has this "women are heartless" narrative hangover over it. Shanmukh Jaswanth, who can be reasonably called Jr Sudheer Babu as far as his acting chops are concerned, has an uphill task ahead. If the brand of comedy is cool, Premaku Namaskaram could give us another YouTuber-turned-Tollywood hero. If the script is dull, much like the frames in the Title Announcement video, Shanmukh will have lost a golden opportunity to deliver his first big-screen break-out hit.
In 2024, Shanmukh Jaswanth was arrested for alleged possession of ganja (marijuana). Police went to his residence to arrest his brother, Sampath Vinay, in connection with a cheating and rape case filed by a woman.
