Why is Fahadh Faasil demanding Rs 20 Cr?

Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil was expected to do multiple Telugu movies after the success of Pushpa: The Rise. In Pushpa: The Rule, although his character was trivialized, he did get applause for his performance.

Why is FaFa not to be seen much in Telugu? A narrative is that he is quoting exorbitant fees, stumping Telugu producers. His asking rate is said to be something like Rs 15-20 Cr. This sounds credible. In many instances, popular actors have spiked their fee in the era of pan-Indian cinema. FaFa is a sought-after actor, after all.

Another version, in defence of FaFa, is that he has been offered silly roles by Telugu directors/producers. So, in order to discourage them from approaching him for insubstantial roles/films, he started deliberately quoting sky-high fees.

He is currently doing a multi-lingual movie predominantly made by Tollywood talent. Don't Trouble The Trouble is its title. The movie is produced by SS Karthikeya (Rajamouli's son) in collaboration with Baahubali producers Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni of Arka Media Works. The project went on the floors recently.
