In his latest interview, 'RX 100' director Ajay Bhupathi implied that Ram Gopal Varma is a greater director than Mani Ratnam. While this may sound quite non-controversial and non-debatable to many Telugus, none outside the Telugu States will agree with Bhupathi. In fact, they might laugh at him.
"Both Mani Ratnam and RGV started out around the same time. While the former has barely done 25-30 movies, the latter has done about 100. Think of the amount of mental energy RGV has had to expend. While Mani Ratnam worked with the best technicians (like AR Rahman), RGV introduced a number of newcomers. He has made at least 10-15 classics," the 'Maha Samudram' director said, praising his 'guru' to the skies.
Bhupathi awaits the release of 'Mangalavaaram' this Friday (November 17).
