Looks like the makers of The Paradise don't want the hype meter to rest. They announced the film's title with a rocking glimpse video much before the shoot began. They recently unveiled the first look. So far, so good.
On Monday, they unveiled a special video announcing the completion of an action sequence. This is one of the few times that such a thing has ever been done in the history of cinema. We see the second-time director, Srikanth Odela, intensely discussing the staging of the scene with his crew. He uses intense language to convey the force of the action scene. The video ends with a frame involving Natural Star Nani.
The prison fight sequence may turn out to be exciting on the big screen, but it is ridiculous to keep the hype meter turned on this way when the film's release is eight months away. Srikanth Odela is no Rajamouli, he is no Lokesh Kanagaraj, he is no Parashanth Neel, he is no Sukumar. He is just one-film old. His debut movie, Dasara, was ordinary.
While The Paradise could be way better than Dasara, loudly declaring shoot updates in this way, as if Srikanth Odela has five blockbusters to his credit, is nothing but juvenile. TFI 'banisalu' go gaga over such videos and, most of the time, end up making Tollywood filmmakers complacent. These audience members are given to kiddish fanism. No matter how many times our filmmakers disappoint them, they won't grow up.
The Paradise's music is by Anirudh Ravichander. Mohan Babu has a prominent role in the movie.
