Hari Hara Veera Mallu: A Semi-Divine Saga of Rebellion and Dharma

It is known that Hari Hara Veera Mallu narrates the "journey of a rebellious outlaw who dares to defy the might of the Mughals". Veera Mallu, the titular character, is not a historical figure but a fictionalized, divinized character.

The big-ticket movie is not based on any real-life folk hero. The lead man is a semi-divine entity with a transcendental urge to fight for Sanatana Dharma. While the initial version might have been devoid of religious symbolism, director AM Jyothi Krisna reimagined Power Star Pawan Kalyan's character. He ensured that the spirit of the rebellious protagonist got a spiritual spin. "Veera Mallu is an incarnation of Lord Shiva and Vishnu. Elements like the Holy Eagle, a representation of Garuda, have been infused," a source says.

It is not for nothing that Pawan Kalyan is seen holding a Damarukam in one of the posters. The rhythmic beats of the Damaru symbolize the continuous cycle of creation (Srishti), preservation, and destruction (Samhara) that the universe undergoes. Expect MM Keeravani to elevate it to the next level.

The makers have lately started marketing the release rights to Hari Hara Veera Mallu for lucrative prices. "Many distributors have already approached the producer and are ready to shell out a whopping sum to bag the rights," the source adds. The film heads to theatres on July 24.
