In a surprise movie, Ram Charan has done away with the 'Global Star' tag, a sobriquet he started using in 2021. He has reverted to his original title: Mega Power Star.
Charan has done the right thing. Global Star was too pompous. It did affect Game Changer a bit. The majority of the audience like to call him Mega Power Star, since it respects the legacy of his family heroes, Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan.
The title change was noticed first today when Janhvi Kapoor's Peddi poster was released. So, Charan dropped it silently without a fuss. "Charan was given the tag by his fans. He has abandoned it once and for all," the industry gossip goes.
Peddi will see the RRR actor use Mega Power Star for all practical purposes. The film, directed by Buchi Babu Sana, will head to theatres on 27 March 2026. About 70% of its shoot is completed. AR Rahman is its music director.
