Jerome Salle calls for action against ‘Agnyaathavaasi’ plagiarism

Trivikram Srinivas’s ‘Agnyaathavaasi’ that features Pawan kalyan, Keerthy Suresh and Anu Emmanuel, was mired in controversy of being inspired by a French film ‘Largo Winch’ even before the film’s release on January 10. The director of the French Film, Jerome Salle, recently posted on his social media that he is very curious to watch the film to know if there are any similarities between two films. He got the ticket and watched the film. He said that could love the film but unfortunately the plot was same.

Now in the latest, Jerome Salle took to Twitter to announce that he decided to send legal notice to the makers of ‘Agnyaathavaasi’. He tweeted, “India cinema has all the necessary talent and creativity for not having to plagiarise. And the silence from #Agnyaathavaasi team since one week is deafening. So let’s take action now. #LegalNotice.”

However, prior to the release of the film, the makers of Pawana Kalyan’s Agnyaathavaasi had paid about Rs 10 – 12 crores for the Telugu version to T Series, which has remake rights for Largo Winch in India. If this news happens to be true, and as the film has been made in Telugu alone, Jerome Salle could gain nothing from the Legal Action.
