The final chapter in the franchise, The Conjuring: Last Rites, has made a sensational entry at the Indian box office. As per trade analyst Taran Adarsh the film has proved the enduring power of its loyal fanbase. Despite stiff competition from other major releases (like Baaghi 4 in Hindi, Madharaasi in Tamil, and Ghaati/Little Hearts in Telugu), the horror film has defied expectations and posted an impressive opening.
The film, starring the paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, earned a total of Rs 17.10 crore in its first week at the Indian box office. The movie began its run with Thursday previews, which brought in Rs 42.83 lacs from 61 shows, setting the stage for a blockbuster Friday. The momentum surged on Friday, with the film pulling in a massive Rs 16.67 crore.

The Conjuring: Last Rites holds a Metascore of 51, labeled “Mixed or Average”, based on 9 critics. On social media, the film has mostly received negative reviews. "The film is a letdown. Instead of chilling suspense, most of the plot revolves around an evil mirror and bloated family drama that drags the story down. The scares feel forced, the jump scares cheap, and it lacks the masterful tension of the first two films. This franchise needed a creative exorcism," a movie buff opined.
