The Mummy, starring Jack Reynor, Laia Costa, May Calamawy, Natalie Grace, and Veronica Falcón, is directed by Lee Cronin. Set to be released in theatres on April 17, 2026, the film's trailer is out.
What is the premise? "The young daughter of a journalist disappears into the desert without a trace. Eight years later, the broken family is shocked when she is returned to them, as what should be a joyful reunion turns into a living nightmare." Produced by James Wan, Jason Blum and John Keville, the film's cinematography is by Dave Garbett. The production design is by Nick Bassett, while Bryan Shaw is the editor. The music is set by Stephen McKeon.
Rumors circulated on social media and sites like Dark Horizons that producer James Wan walked out of an early screening because the film was "too disturbing" or "unwatchable."
"The film should have been retitled The Resurrected to distance it from the Mummy brand, as it feels more like a possession movie than a traditional monster flick," a critic wrote.
Lee Cronin's The Mummy will also be released in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil.
