Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi generate controversies on purpose

"Elon Musk recently invented a flying car. I think India did it 5,000 years ago!" These are Ranbir Kapoor's words. The Bollywood superstar was referring to the Pushpaka Vimana, the mythical flying aerial chariot described in the ancient Indian epic Ramayana.

A couple of days earlier, Sai Pallavi remarked that Ravana was "not all bad". In her view, he was grey.

These two comments by the lead pair of the Diwali release, Ramayana, suggest something. The team behind the movie is desperate to generate controversies.

Ranbir's remarks about Indians inventing a flying car thousands of years ago has resulted in Leftist outrage. Sai Pallavi's words have been trolled by the Right Wing.

They are well aware of what ragebait can achieve in the era of social media. Free publicity is guaranteed. Ranbir surely doesn't believe that our ancestors were so advanced in 2000 BC. And Sai Pallavi consciously made the utterance about Ravana being grey. Everything is likely deliberate, calculated to be all over social media. Ramayana, to be released in theatres on November 5, is thirsty for big openings. Not a single song from the Nitish Tiwari directorial has attained virality.
