A powerful oath taken by actors Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR in the recently released trailer for War 2 has captured widespread attention online. The pledge, mirroring a commitment to save India at any cost, has become a viral sensation.
Shridhar Raghavan, the head writer for the YRF Spy Universe franchise, explained the creative decision behind the oath. He stated that writer-producer Aditya Chopra was adamant about not revealing any plot points from War 2 in the trailer. Consequently, they devised a fictional oath that agents undertake during their induction into covert task forces. This oath, Raghavan noted, mirrors the film's dramatic and intense storyline. He further elaborated that with War 2, and indeed with every film in the franchise, the creators aim to provide more insights into the shadowy world of the YRF Spy Universe, exploring the identities, connections, and origin stories of these agents.
Raghavan also commented on the dynamic between the two lead actors as depicted in the trailer. He then posed the intriguing question of why they are battling each other, suggesting a "twist of Destiny" led to their "explosive collision course." Raghavan concluded by saying that the intent was to build and play on this intrigue.
The oath includes lines such as "Death Before Dishonour," "Service Before Self," and the prominently featured "India First."
War 2 is slated to hit the cinemas on August 14. Contrary to speculations, the date and venue for its Telugu pre-release event is yet to be finalized.
