Actress Kavitha, who debuted in 1976 in Siri Siri Muvva, lost her husband to Covid-19 in 2021. A little earlier, her son, too, passed away.
In an interview, she revealed that her husband, a businessman, had suffered a heavy financial loss just years before his demise. "He had bought three oil ridges in Pondicherry. Due to a global crisis, prices came crashing down. As a result, he suffered a massive loss of Rs 132 Cr in a span of just nine months. He was compelled to sell off mortgaged properties without our knowledge. The whole thing took a toll on him mentally. One day, he collapsed all of a sudden. The brain hemorrhage was considered fatal at first. Thankfully, the country's best doctors were on the job. He was revived within two weeks," Kavitha shared.
Kavitha added, "My husband was feeling guilty about the business losses. I told him I would any day want him over one thousand crores."
