Radhika Apte has targeted Legend, her first big-ticket Telugu film. Released in 2014, the Boyapati Srinu directorial featured Nandamuri Balakrishna in a dual role.
"There was a Telugu film I did where I had to marry my mama (uncle). That was the most challenging film; everything about it I hated. I also romanced a much older actor in the film. It was a very patriarchal situation and place," she told Zoom Digital.
Before the release of Legend, in a promotional interview, the same actress suggested that she was fortunate to have landed the project, considering it was her biggest Telugu outing at that time (Raktha Charitra and Dhoni had preceded it). She later did Lion opposite Balakrishna, once again. After that, she bid goodbye to the Telugu film industry. Radhika Apte has been doing strictly non-patriarchal movies since then. She is considered the most enlightened actress in the galaxy at the moment.
