Actress Lavanya Tripathi has filed a complaint at the Cyber Crime Police Station in Hyderabad. She alleges ongoing online harassment and abuse via social media, where certain individuals have been posting indecent, obscene, and defamatory content targeting her and her family members. This includes vulgar language in comments, false allegations about her personal life, and attempts to humiliate or damage her reputation. The harassment has reportedly been continuing for some time. Lavanya specifically pointed out an Instagram account as one of the sources of these abusive posts.
At the time of writing, the police have initiated an investigation to identify and apprehend the accused. No further details on arrests are known so far.
Since she has mentioned a specific Insta handle, resolution is going to be easy. In the past, celebs such as Anasuya Bharadwaj have received justice in the form of immediate police action where the offender was clearly identifiable.
Lavanya Tripathi has been married to actor Varun Tej. Sathi Leelavathi, her next theatrical release, is going to be a Summer release. Varun Tej is currently doing Korean Kanakaraju.
