During the filming of Aadhavan in 2009, rumors emerged that director Ravikumar was unhappy with her. The tension reportedly centered on her punctuality and behavior during the film's climax shoot. While these reports suggested a fallout, the director later shifted his stance.
Industry Politics with Vishal
Nayanthara found herself in the middle of industry friction during the 2015 Nadigar Sangam elections. The association was divided into two warring factions. One side was led by Vishal and the other by veteran actor Sarathkumar. She was perceived as being close to the Sarathkumar camp. This created a visible distance between her and Vishal for several years.
The Legal Stand-off with Dhanush
In 2024, a dispute started over her Netflix documentary Beyond the Fairytale. Dhanush filed a 10 crore lawsuit claiming she used a three-second clip from his film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan without permission. Nayanthara published a scathing open letter in response. She accused him of harboring a personal grudge and being small-hearted.
