Excessive, unregulated, or high-decibel noise generated by religious practices is commonplace in India. Allu Sirish, who lives in a high-rise in Hyderabad, today took to X to complain about the blaring noise from a nearby Hanuman Temple. Tagging the Hyderabad police, he wrote, "Many elders, children and working ppl in our society are disturbed by it and made many complaints in the past. But no action was taken despite my recent police complaint."
Following his stance against the unacceptable noise pollution, several netizens accused him of singling out a Hindu temple when many mosques and dargahs in the vicinity also make noise. The backlash made Sirish clarify that he is a devotee of Hanuman. "Friends.. I am religious myself and pray to Lord Hanuman. Blasting music with DJ setup at 2am is not Bhakti. What I complained about is civic sense not devotion. Thank you for understanding," the Kotha Janta and Buddy actor wrote.
