Mrunal Thakur has warned miscreants against misusing her image or personality or work in the age of AI-enabled deepfakes. In a statement today, she warned of legal action against offenders.
"Creating or sharing deepfake content using my likeness is illegal and unacceptable. Consider this your formal notice to stop immediately. Any further misuse of my identity will result in legal action," the multi-lingual actress shared.
Mrunal Thakur's most recent Telugu film is Adivi Sesh's Dacoit. "With films like Sita Ramam, Hi Nanna, and The Family Star, Telugu audiences accepted me as one of their own. I can never forget their love. They trust me to choose good roles. My role in Sita Ramam was very different from this. Those who want to see me in a new way will definitely be surprised," she shared ahead of the movie's release. Dacoit, however, underperformed at the box office.
