The tedious rumour-mongering over Dhoom 4 is now dead. Ranbir Kapoor's latest interview confirms that he is not doing the heist thriller.
In 2024, national media reports stated that Yash Raj Films was going to produce the fourth installment on a budget of more than Rs 400 Cr. With Ranbir confirming that he is not fronting the sequel, the gossip is now gone forever.
Dhoom 4 will happen with some other hero. As per the buzz in the Mumbai film industry, Aditya Chopra wants Dhoom 4 to look lavish because expectations from the franchise are high.
A theory is that Ranbir chose Brahmastra over Dhoom 4 because he had extreme faith in the former. In an interview, here is what he said: "What Brahmastra director Ayan Mukerji is making interests me more than Star Wars. Let's make our own Star Wars. Let's not chase what's there... I don't think Ayan is less than a J.J. Abrams or a George Lucas. Let me work with him and make our own Star Wars." Such is the amount of faith he had in Brahmastra, which became a flop.
Ranbir Kapoor is focussed on three projects currently: the two Ramayana movies, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love & War.
