'Prabhas' rise was expected, Allu Arjun's was not'

Actor Naveen Vadde, who was one of the biggest Telugu actors in the late 1990s, has commented that he has been totally surprised by the national-level fame attained by Allu Arjun in the last five years. He described Bunny's ascension as far more unexpected than the rise of Prabhas.

In a recent interview, Naveen remarked that Baahubali was made as an epic movie targeting the pan-Indian audience. "Also, it was always expected that Rajamouli was up for something big. On the other hand, Pushpa didn't set out for that. It was made primarily as a Telugu movie. Yet, it scored huge," the actor, who awaits the release of Transfer Trimurthulu, shared.

The baseline for Allu Arjun took form much before Pushpa: The Rise made a mark at the Hindi box office in 2021. His Hindi-dubbed Telugu movies had been laying the foundation. Also, Pushpa did set its sights on conquering new territory, mainly because, by then, Prabhas had been going strong for years in the Hindi market.
