The second season of Bigg Boss Telugu was hosted by Nani. During the reality show's telecast, Kaushal Manda's supporters perceived that the host was being biased against him. Members of the Kaushal Army threatened to boycott Nani's movie Devadas (co-starring Akkineni Nagarjuna) back in September 2018.
Fans of Kaushal Manda believed Nani was being biased against him. When Nani took a humorous jibe at the constant trolling on social media while releasing the Devadas trailer, sections of the Kaushal Army retaliated online, declaring they would boycott the theatrical release or watch pirated versions instead. Nani even joked that the director chose a sad opening to the trailer specifically to match the intensely negative and angry mood of the Bigg Boss comments dominating his feed.
But the online chatter amplified by Kaushal's PR team didn't reflect on the sentiment on ground.
In an interview years later, Kaushal gave a clean chit to Nani, saying that he was genuine and honest as a host. "I once told him he looks just like my friend," the title winner of the season said.
Kaushal Manda was expected to become a busy actor in Telugu cinema. It's said that he adamantly looked for lead roles, which is why nothing concrete shaped up.
