Mouli Tanuj, who started out as a content creator, shot to fame with Little Hearts last year. He awaits the release of Donga Naa Kodaku in November.
During an interview, a well-known YouTube personality commented that nobody remembers Mouli. "Even stars are forgotten when they don't have hits. Mouli is nothing," the host remarked.
The reckless remark, which is so atypical of today's celebrity-crazy media culture, could be a publicity gimmick ahead of the release of Donga Naa Kodaku. Perhaps, they are going to wield the 'sympathy card' and we could even see the host issuing an apology.
In the past, the 'sympathy card' thingy has helped a couple of heroes with no film industry background. This is not to say that they don't face discrimination. They DEFINITELY do in the nepotism-driven Telugu film industry. Ravi Teja, Nani, Vijay Deverakonda, Kiran Abbavaram, Teja Sajja and Mouli (none of these has a star hero/producer as a Godfather) deserve kudos for even making it this far. However, publicity gimmicks too are a reality. In all probability, Mouli will agree with the comments while showcasing confidence in his form.
