Blending mythology with raw human emotion, the newly-launched Kanaka Durga sets out to explore the exquisite journey of a broken, agonized man encountering a force far greater than himself. Framed against a divine backdrop inspired by what scriptures and mythology say about Hindu deities, the ambitious spectacle movie aims to "merge devotion, action, music, and drama". At its heart, the story is not merely about faith, but about "redemption, inner strength, and the transformative power of belief".

Directed by Pradeep Maddali and written by BVS Ravi, the film stars Allari Naresh in the lead role, alongside Kajal Choudhary, with Subbaraju (Baahubali, Bujjigadu fame) playing a pivotal character. Naresh was seen in 12A Railway Colony last year.

Backed by Applause Entertainment in collaboration with Temple Town Pictures, the project is positioned as a "culturally rooted narrative, drawing deeply from the spiritual ethos of Telugu traditions".

Speaking at the launch today, Sunil Chainani of Applause Entertainment conveyed that South Indian cinema continues to be an exciting storytelling platform. He noted that their journey in Tamil cinema had been encouraging, and expressed happiness about entering Telugu cinema with Kanaka Durga. He added that the film is being crafted with a "blend of devotion, culture, and emotion".

Producers Ajit Thakur and BVS Ravi shared that the story is deeply rooted in Telugu spirituality and culture, making it a meaningful project for their banner. Director Pradeep reflected that the film holds personal significance due to his own devotion. He solemnly added that the story explores what happens when a fractured individual encounters divine power.

The film was formally launched with traditional pooja rituals, attended by Surekha Konidela as chief guest. Several prominent Tollywood figures, including Allu Aravind and Shyam Prasad Reddy, were also present. Sameer Nair and Deepak Segal are also bankrolling the project. Harish Shankar, Mikkilineni Sudhakar, Kona Venkat, Prasanth Varma, Madhura Sridhar, Swapna Dutt, Supriya Yarlagadda, Divya Vijay, Hanshita Reddy, Janhvi Narang, Sravanthi Chokkarapu, Vidya Koppineedu, Padma Kasturi Rangan, Anuradha Guduru, and Vygha Reddy also graced the occasion.
