In a recent podcast, actress Janhvi Kapoor explained the difference between consensual sensual content she does in films/songs versus non-consensual sexualization by paparazzi or others.
The Peddi actress shared, "I did a song called Bheegi Saree (in the Hindi film Param Sundari) where I am in a wet sari and like I am dancing pretty sensually. The idea for that was not to titillate but to look sensual. Had someone told me I was not desirable in it, I would feel offended. But saying an actress is not hot-looking in a song is very different from sexualizing her, especially without their consent."
The Devara actress suggested that photographers sometimes tinker with her pics through wrong angles. "Sometimes, my pics are captured without my knowledge or consent and circulated. And they put some music and they put some slow-mo and they put some zoom. That's not my consent," she added.
