In the teaser for EPIC – First Semester, Aditya (Anand Deverakonda) and Kadali (Vaishnavi Chaitanya) enter a romantic dynamic that seems to be easy only because the duo is separated geographically from their homeland. Director Aditya Haasan sets the story in London, where boundaries blur between a young couple who share the same culture in a foreign land.
While Aditya is timid and carries forward his father-fearing persona from ETV Win's 90s: A Middle Class Biopic, Kadali is assertive. Sivaji and Vasuki play the male lead's parents.
Producers S Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya have made sure that, visually, the love story is vibrant. Music director Hesham Abdul Wahab adds to the robustness. "Epic is a relatable love story that has been made as an absolute family film at a time when romantic relationships have become so casual. You can expect romance for sure. Romance (intimacy) has to be expected when the treatment is true-to-life," the director said.
Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas have also worked with cinematographer Azeem Mohammad and editor Navin Nooli. The production design is by Avinash Kolla. Touted to be a "delightful mix of comedy, romance, emotion and drama catering to audiences of all kinds", the first song from Epic is titled Sancharame, released weeks back.
