Varun Tej's emergency knee surgery today was successful. He had injured himself while practising Volleyball for Bhari.
The Fidaa actor was "immediately provided medical attention" soon after the accident. "The surgery was completed smoothly, and he is currently recovering under expert medical supervision. His condition is stable. We hereby express our gratitude for the outpouring of concern. Our hero is steadily progressing towards full recovery," Pink Elephant Pictures, owned by Niharika Konidela, stated.
Varun Tej has resolved to look like an authentic athlete in the movie. His cousin, Ram Charan, recently injured himself on the sets of Peddi and went under the knife for a minor forehead injury near his right eye.
Launched earlier this month, Bhari is touted to be a "rooted rural sports drama" in which the Toli Prema star will be seen as a villager who excels at the sport of volleyball. Director Yadhu Vamsee of Committee Kurrollu fame is wielding the megaphone.
Bhari is being made on a high budget. Anudeep Dev, the composer of films like Hanu-Man and Committee Kurrollu, is on board. Venkata Subhash Cheerala, Uttam Lekkala, Vicky Ma, and Ranjith Mareddy are the writers. Production Designer Chinna's work holds the key, considering the importance of atmospherics to a volleyball-based movie.
Varun Tej is advised to take rest for a few weeks. His production schedules will have to be revised now. The film's cast details will be made official soon.
